fall-protection

FALL PROTECTION

  • Our Fall Protection training course has been developed for those with an occupational requirement to be trained to safely perform work at heights. The Fall Protection course is for any employee who may be expected to complete work-related tasks that expose them to danger when working at heights. This Fall Protection course will also establish an understanding of the statutory requirements of the federal COHS, Provincial and Territorial OH&S legislations. We will achieve this through discussion of fall protection fundamentals and by participating in skills exercises.
    By the end of this Fall Protection course you will be able to:
  • Describe effective fall protection, and where a fall protection plan is required.
  • Describe various hazards and know how to handle hazards that are identified.
  • Understand the hierarchy of choices and how conditions of the workplace affect the choice of fall protection.
  • Should something go terribly wrong, you will know how to prevent prolonged suspension in a post fall protection device and you will understand how to effect a rescue.

    What You Will Need:
  • Helmet with chinstraps
  • Gloves
  • Safety Glases
  • Body Harness
    If you don't own your own safety gear some will be provided for you.

CONFINED SPACE ENTRY

  • Our Confined Space Entry training course has been developed for those with an occupational requirement to be trained to safely perform work in confined spaces. The Confined Space Entry course is for any employee who may be expected to complete work- related tasks that expose them to danger when working in confined spaces. This Confined Space Entry course will also establish an understanding of the statutory requirements of the federal COHS,  Provincial and Territorial OH&S legislations. We will achieve this through discussion of confined space fundamentals and by participating in skills exercises. By the end of this Confined Space Entry course you will be able to:
  • Describe a Confined Space.
  • Describe various hazards and know how to handle hazards that are identified.
  • You will understand the information every employee needs to know in order to avoid accidental exposure.
  • You will understand the confined space permit system.
  • Should something go terribly wrong, you will know how to effect a non-entry rescue.
    What You Will Need:
  • Safety Harness
  • Hard Hat
  • Steel Toe Boots (recomended). If you do not own your own safety gear some will be provided for you

FORKLIFT OPERATOR

  • Our Forklift Operator course has been developed for those with an occupational requirement to be trained to safely undertake work activities that involve the operation of a Forklift. The goal of this course is to help you understand what a forklift operator responsibilities are and how to manage those responsibilities to protect your health and safety and your co-workers. This Forklift Operator course will also establish an understanding of the statutory requirements of the federal COHS, Provincial and Territorial OH&S legislations. We will achieve this through discussion, by participating in skills practice. This course will provide the participant with the necessary knowledge regarding:
  • Forklift Features & Safety Equipment.
  • Stability, Capacity Plate.
  • Pre-Operational Inspection.
  • Pedestrians.
  • Start-up, Shut-down.
  • Travelling, with and without a load.
  • Load Handling.
  • Ramps & Grades.
  • Workplace Specific Hazards.
  • Refueling & Recharging.
    What You Will Need:
    It is recommended that you bring the following safety wear.
  • Safety Vest
  • Glove
  • Steel Toe Boots
  • Hard Hat.

ATV AND UTV OPERATOR

  • Our ATV and UTV Operator course has been developed for those with an occupational requirement to be trained to safely undertake work activities that involve the operation of an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) and/or a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV). The goal of this course is to help you better understand what a ATV and UTV Operator responsibilities are and how to manage those responsibilities to protect your health and safety and your co-workers. This ATV and UTV Operator course will also establish an understanding of the statutory requirements of the federal COHS, Provincial and Territorial OH&S legislations.  We will achieve this through discussion, by participating in skills practice and operator performance evaluation.
    This course will provide the participant with the necessary knowledge regarding:
  • ATV and UTV Features and Safety Equipment.
  • Job Hazard Assessment.
  • Pre-Operational Inspection.
  • Safe Operation and Riding Skills.
  • Travelling with and without a load, towing a trailer.
  • Turning and traversing slopes, climbing and descending hills, crossing obstacles and stability factors.
  • Leaving the Operator’s Position.
  • Transporting ATV’s and UTV’s.
